I also greatly appreciate Jack's efforts, and am thankful to have the opportunity to thank him here. As far as the dancing pole goes, well, I fancy myself more as a go-go girl dancing in a birdcage above the stage! I suppose that dates me but I don't really care. :-)

Ah but who doesn't love Nancy Sinatra?

Besides if nothing else, Austin Powers taught me that go-go dancers like poles too!  Maybe the pole will come with a cage attached at the top!!!

Me either.  Fortunately youtube and Jenna Marbles has us covered!

Thanks Jack for putting up with my whining crapoloa . . .

The one stereotype I cannot get out of my system is that I'm whiny, bitchy, and seemingly at 67 having "Aunt Flo" come visit on a daily basis. LMAO

PMS -- "Putting up with Men's Shit" -- which in my case is an inescapable situation. LMAO

I didn't look at the pole dance video, but the anime at the bottom is sexist objectification. It's technically pedophile oriented child porn -- only in cartoon form so nobody gets arrested.

Foul and obnoxious, sexist. objectifying, borderline child porn. I'll go on record with that.

I am sure it could be interpreted as sexist objectification, but not as porn. Anime and manga grows out of a Japanese entertainment culture, which is even more obsessed with youth than Americans and Europeans are. The sexy school girls are everywhere.

When I saw this animation, I was reminded of the youth many MTF crossdreamers never had, but often dreamed about. I suspect that was what Skyler tried to convey, and I can relate to that.

Lucky Star dance is better, and cute without being creepy!

In the strike witches universe pants don't even exist for girls, or skirts, or anything less revealing than panties. Japan is ruining the world, I should have listened to Aristotle.

On a more important note, where's my appreciation thread? Sure, I haven't done anything, but that doesn't mean that I shouldn't get an unfair amount of praise!

My apologies.

I posted that because I thought it was cute (in line with the Japanese asethetic style of 可愛い kawaii) and went with my anime theme.  I didn't mean to offend.

Japan is far behind American when it comes to women's rights and empowerment, and given that the gif was from a Moe style parody of the magical girl genre I can definitely understand how it can be defined as being sexist.

I will remove it and the video I liked to skyler earlier from which it is from.

Again, Sorry.  Didn't mean to offend.

PS: The video isn't a pole dance video.  The joke was we can't wait for a pole, lets dance now and I linked to a popular animated dance video that became a meme a several years ago.

LOL.  I probably should have used that video instead.

I am working on your appreciation thread next....just busy with school at the moment :)

Calling it child porn is pretty hyperbolic, it is definitely sexualizing little girls, but surely the horrific and awful thing about child porn is the exploitation and harm of real children, and not merely the abstract thought, or notion, or personal psychological or emotional purity. That kind of hyperbole, like equating everything to the holocaust decreases it's significance and the reality of its horrors for the cheap shock factor. I wouldn't be apologetic to such puritanical hysterics.

Like equating shooting video game characters in the head, with shooting real people, and funnily enough, there are stricter laws against what kind of fictional violence can be shown against women, compared to men, which re-enforces a societal notion that women are delicate, and need to be treated more protectively. I'm not exactly sure what the "sexist" part was supposed to be about, like, would it have been better if there were sexualized little boys present? Lol, sexuality tends to be pretty sexist -- which is funnily enough why "pansexuals" tend to act like they have a more enlightened sexuality, when studies actually show that they're actually only interested in the most attractive examples of both sexes, and even more choosy, and exclusive in their preferences than hetero or homo-sexuals. Super tangent there.

Thanks for the suggestion of an appreciation thread, but I of course was only being charmingly obnoxious... or at least I figure that it makes me charming...

Nah, Elsa. You're great!

Your mind is software. Program it.

Your body is a shell. Change it.
Death is a disease. Cure it.
Extinction is approaching. Fight it!

I want to join in on the appreciation. I found Jack's other crossdreaming site a few months ago and then proceeded to read every post from the beginning. I enjoyed it so much and learned all about the feelings I've been having my whole life. It is so well researched and well written, explaining some complex things in ways a layperson can understand. I can only imagine how much time and effort has gone into it. And then running this site as well. I am so grateful.

As for the video of the cartoon characters dancing, I enjoyed that too. The suggestion that it is child porn is totally absurd. As for it being sexist and objectifying…. well according to these radical feminists everything in our society today is sexist and objectifying. If we are to let them set the standards, we wouldn't have any fun at all. I, for one, enjoyed the dancing video so much it inspired me to put on a little dress and dance along. Lost, thank for posting it, and I'm sorry you felt the need to remove it.

I'm a little embarrassed now. My apologies as well. I am sorry if my part in this offended anyone.

Because I'm feeling defensive, and because in retrospect my comment was completely ambiguous: I wanted to learn the dance. I have lived an entire lifetime of not dancing because I felt so uncomfortable in my own body, and the dance in that video made me want to dance.

You have nothing to apologize for, it was totally my fault!

And I don't think anyone took your comments the wrong way.  I also can't dance in real life and can completely relate to your feelings.

But I think I found another crossdreamer willing to teach me how to dance.  Here she comes now:

BUGS HILDA!!!

She is so much better than my last teacher.  All he did was croak on me:

I for one dance every day. Definitely not well, lol, or like I know what I'm doing or would do it in front of anyone, but that isn't the point. Nietszche said to never trust anyone that doesn't dance, and also: "We should consider every day in which we do not dance lost, and every truth to which we do not laugh, false".

Skyler and Lost,

You two have nothing to apologize for. The clip was innocent enough, and I was definitely able to keep the context of the post in mind.

That does not mean that we could not discuss sexual stereotypes in crossdreaming, but I do not think this is the thread for that.
